Cheung Ek

Cheung Ek is a district located in the southern part of Kamboul, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is best known for being home to the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, which is a significant historical site related to Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge regime. The site, often referred to as the Killing Fields, is a somber reminder of the tragic history of Cambodia during the late 1970s.

While Cheung Ek is a historically significant area, it is also a residential and agricultural district. The area features a mix of quiet neighborhoods, farmland, and open spaces. Over recent years, as Phnom Penh continues to expand, Cheung Ek has seen some development, with residential projects and infrastructure gradually improving.

With its close proximity to Phnom Penh and its relatively affordable land prices, Cheung Ek is considered an emerging area for real estate investment. The district’s potential for future growth and its historical significance make it a unique area for both residents and businesses.
